ADMISSIONS
All applications for enrollment in postsecondary programs at McCann
Technical School are reviewed and receive a response. The admissions policy
assures all candidates that applications will be reviewed and notification
made as soon as all required information is received. Applicants are
evaluated on the basis of their post academic performance and their
potential for further learning.
Candidates for the postsecondary programs are required to submit the
following documentation:

Official high school transcript or GED scores

Official college transcript
-
Essay explaining personal goals related to their program choice
-
Two letters of reference from among counselors, teachers, employers, or
other professionals
TUITION
The McCann Technical School Committee as approved by the Massachusetts
Department of Education establishes the tuition for the school each year.
The tuition is reviewed annually. The city or town of residence assumes the
tuition for residents of the Northern Berkshire Vocational Regional School
District and a minimum of 12 consecutive months residence is required prior
to the date of entrance. Residents from outside the district or out of state
must assume full tuition. Specific tuition information is available through
the Postsecondary Office.
FINANCIAL AID
All students are encouraged to apply for financial aid to help with the cost
of education. Financial assistance programs provide monies to those
families, parents, and students, who can demonstrate that they are unable to
provide the full cost of higher education. McCann participates in the
Federal Pell Grant Program, MassGrant Program, Federal Stafford Student Loan
Program, and Federal Plus Loan Program.
To be eligible, you must meet certain requirements. You must:

Be a US citizen or eligible non-citizen

Be registered with the Selective Service (if required)

Attend a college that participates in the programs listed above

Be working toward a degree or certificate
-
Be in attendance
-
Be making satisfactory progress
-
Not owe a refund on a Federal grant or be in default on a Federal
education loan

Have "financial need" as determined in part by a FAFSA form
To apply for financial aid, students must complete a Free
Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at
www.fafsa.ed.gov to be considered. Your will also have to complete a
McCann Financial Aid Form that will be sent to your with your acceptance
package. A copy of the family's prior year Federal Income Tax Return will be
required for verification purposes. Consideration of eligibility is made
when these documents have been received and the student has been accepted to
the school.
